Terms of Use
*The Composer website — thecomposer.eu*
1. Who operates this site
This website is operated by:
Social Runners BV, trading as The Composer
Rijksweg 449/1, 3650 Dilsen-Stokkem, Belgium
Enterprise number: BE 0781.302.534
Email: hello@thecomposer.eu
That's the legal notice. Wherever Belgian law asks a website to say who's behind it, this is the answer.
2. A second registered name to know about
There is a second registration also trading as "The Composer": VAT BE 0645.738.797. Both are real, both are ours. We're telling you this up front so nothing looks hidden.
Here's the rule that matters if you ever become a client: the engagement you sign is with whichever entity is named on that engagement's proposal or invoice. That document — not this website — tells you who you're contracting with, who invoices you, and who is responsible for the work. If you're not sure, ask us at hello@thecomposer.eu before you sign anything.
Using this website, its forms, or the hello@thecomposer.eu mailbox doesn't by itself make Social Runners BV your contracting party — operating the site and answering enquiries isn't the same as signing you as a client. The entity you're contracting with is determined solely by, and will always be clearly named on, the proposal or invoice you receive before you sign anything.
3. What these terms cover
These terms cover using this website — browsing it, reading it, using its forms, signing up for the newsletter. They are not the terms of any paid engagement. If you become a client, the substance, price, and scope of that work live in the proposal and invoice we agree together, not in this document. Nothing here overrides what's written there; if the two ever conflict, the signed engagement wins.
4. Who this site is for
This is a business-to-business site. It's built for founder-led companies in Belgium and Europe who are looking into branding, websites, systems, or AI work.
To be precise about what this site does *not* do:
- It doesn't sell anything to consumers.
- There's no online payment or checkout anywhere on it.
- There are no user accounts.
- We're building a client portal. It's coming soon — it is not live yet, and nothing on this site should be read as saying otherwise. When it launches, it will carry its own terms.
Services — the Founder's Audit, scoped projects (brand, website, systems, AI agents), and the optional retainer — are discussed and priced in conversation, not bought through this site. Prices are named in the proposal, not published here.
5. How the forms on this site work
We think you should know exactly what happens when you use a form here, so:
Contact, booking, and newsletter forms don't send anything to a Composer server. When you fill one in and hit send, your browser opens an email addressed to hello@thecomposer.eu, pre-filled with what you typed, in your own email program. You review it, and you decide whether to send it. Nothing is transmitted by the form itself — the sending, if it happens, is you emailing us, same as if you'd typed the address yourself.
Draft autosave works the same way, privately: as you type into a form, your browser saves your draft to its own local storage on your own device (this is called `localStorage`). That draft never leaves your browser. We never see it, receive it, or store a copy of it anywhere. You can clear it any time by clearing your browser's site data for thecomposer.eu.
Because of how this works, using these forms depends on your device having a configured email program to hand off to, and on your browser supporting local storage. If either isn't available, the forms won't function as intended — that's a limit of the mechanism, not a fault we can fix from our end.
6. Acceptable use
Use this site the way it's meant to be used. Don't try to break it, scrape it in bulk, overload it, inject code into it, or use it to distribute malware or spam. Don't use the contact or newsletter forms to send us anything unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent. If you do any of this, we can block your access — no drama, just common sense.
7. Content and intellectual property
The text, design, layout, and code of this site belong to Social Runners BV, unless a piece is credited to someone else. You're welcome to read it, share a link to it, or quote it with attribution. You don't get a licence to copy the site itself, resell it, or pass it off as your own.
Work we deliver to clients is a separate matter. Ownership of deliverables, and whether and how a project can be shown publicly, are governed entirely by the applicable engagement's own proposal or contract — not by this website. This document states no default rule on either point; ask us, or check your proposal, if you need to know where a specific engagement stands.
8. No advice, no guarantee from the website itself
Everything on this site — the writing, the framework explanations, the opinions — is general information about how we work and what we think. It's not tailored advice for your situation, and reading it doesn't create an advisory relationship between us. Nothing on this site is a binding offer to you; an offer only exists once we've sent you a proposal naming scope and price.
9. Availability
We keep this site running on ordinary care, but we don't promise it will always be up, fast, or error-free. It's provided as-is. If it goes down or something on it breaks, tell us at hello@thecomposer.eu and we'll sort it — but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
10. Links to other sites
If we link to somewhere else, that's for your convenience. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content, their availability, or what they do with your data. Their own terms and privacy policy apply once you leave ours.
11. Liability
We're careful with this site, but as with any website, we limit our liability for using it, to the extent Belgian law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your device, your email program, your browser, or your own local storage not behaving as expected.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or anything else Belgian law does not allow to be limited or excluded — including liability for a breach that defeats the essential purpose of what was promised.
Liability arising from a paid engagement is governed entirely by that engagement's own proposal or contract, not by this website-use limitation. This section applies only to your use of this website.
12. Privacy
How we handle personal data — what little of it this site touches — is set out in our Privacy Policy. Read it alongside these terms; it covers the forms, the newsletter, and the hosting logs in detail.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute about this website goes to the courts of the district where Social Runners BV has its registered seat (Tongeren). This is a business-to-business relationship: none of the consumer withdrawal or cooling-off rules apply, because no consumer contract is formed on this site.
This doesn't restrict your rights under the GDPR: you can always bring a data protection claim in the courts of your own country of residence, regardless of this clause — see our Privacy Policy for details.
14. Severability
If one clause in these terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force. We'll treat the invalid clause as replaced by whatever valid clause comes closest to what it was trying to do.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site, the services, or the law changes — for instance, once the client portal goes live, it will need its own terms. We'll update the date below when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version; if you don't agree, please stop using the site and get in touch instead.
16. Contact
Questions about these terms, or about the site generally: hello@thecomposer.eu.
